WSSC's Stewardship Project Registration

Join others committed to improving the health of the Patuxent River Watershed and improving the recreation facilities located on WSSC property.

  • Earn student service learning hours also for employees, retirees, community members and organizations with volunteers who want to help the environment.
  • Limited space available for each event so sign up early.
  • Note all volunteers must be 15 years of age or older; all minors must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Groups must register each member individually

Sunday September 20th - Triadelphia Clean up 9:00am to 1:00pm.

  • Volunteers will meet at the Triadelphia Rec area at 9:00am where there will be a short introduction. WSSC employees will then transport volunteers to the entrance to our property off Rt. 97 then volunteers will walk along the river cleaning up the shoreline fishing area.

Sunday September 20th - Azalea Garden Clean-up 2:00pm to 5:00pm.

  • During this clean-up volunteers will be assisting with the planting of bushes, weeding garden beds, and clearing brush and limbs from the Azalea Garden located at the Brighton Dam Recreation area.

Saturday October 17th - Rocky Gorge Trail Maintenance (Tucker Rd. to Ednor Rd.) 9:00am to 12:00pm

  • Volunteers will meet at Brown's Bridge (Ednor Rd.) to park and receive an orientation. WSSC employees will then transport volunteers to Tucker Rd where they will work to tag, repaint trail blazes, prune back foliage, and pick up trash between Tucker Rd. and Ednor Rd./
